The Fall Creek Band brings forth a tasteful deliverance of bluegrass from the talented hands of a new generation of musicians. The passion of these individuals for this art has led them to East Tennessee State University to study bluegrass music and broaden their horizons in the music business as well as cultivate their own abilities. In pursuit of this musical passion, the group desires to carry out the tradition of bluegrass from past generations to many generations to come.

Aaron Smith - Guitar and Harmony Vocals

An individual full of talent and potential originates from Springfield, Ohio. Over the past nine years, the professional musicians who have influenced Aaron are Kenny Smith, Bryan Sutton, and Tim Stafford. In learning the craft of professionals, he has developed his own style as a lead and rhythm guitarist. Not only does Aaron have talent as a guitarist but also as a tenor harmony singer and does a magnificent job. To enhance his skills and become a professional musician, Aaron is majoring in Appalachian Studies (Bluegrass, Old Time, & Country Music)at East Tennessee State University.

Kyle Murphy - Mandolin

Kyle is currently a sophomore at ETSU, in the bluegrass music program. He has been playing mandolin for 8 years, and also plays fiddle and guitar. Originally from Los Angeles, he got his start playing around the city with his family, The Murphy Family Band. As well as playing with Fall Creek, Kyle plays with the Sons of Bluegrass, another group of ETSU students. Some of Kyle's influences on the mandolin are, Bill Monroe, David Grisman, Shawn Lane, Adam Steffey, and Bob Applebaum.
